Many churches are building multi-purpose facilities as Family Life centers, or as a temporary sanctuary prior to final-phase construction of a dedicated sanctuary. It's important to make the sound application as conducive as possible to current and future needs. We provided this system for Azalea Garden's new 700-seat venue in Virginia Beach.
One unique aspect was a compact Soundcraft LX7 32-channel mixer on a custom portable desk, and redundant multipin snake connects in a sound room and out in the sanctuary floor. This allowed the console to be easily moved out on the floor for services, or operated from the sound room for multipurpose activities. Some components such as the Yamaha subwoofers and wall-mounted choir monitors can be relocated to any new sanctuary while the main cluster and amp rack were designed to remain for future room applications.
